Welcome to the Elsphere!
My name is Matthias. For as long as I can remember, I've been writing fantasy and science fantasy - which is a real genre, I promise - and now that I'm trained up a little bit, I'm bringing my stories to you.
My books are clean YA fiction spanning a massive multiverse and genres that will some day include, but not be limited to: epic fantasy, steampunk, Western, cyberpunk, military sci-fi, and space opera.
Inspired by ancient myths and modern tales, the Elsphere represents the best of what I love in literature. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do!
What is the Elsphere?
The Elsphere is a vast and self-contained multiverse consisting of 49 dimensions, which in turn consist of a single galaxy and 13 star systems that are capable of supporting life. Each dimension was created by a Progenitor, one of the powerful immortals who survived an ancient war some 30,000 years before the Shadowsteel Saga, and many are still ruled by their Progenitors.
Most of the Progenitors are magic-users called Alorns or Wanderers, who can manipulate one of the six primal forces: Time, Change, Reality, Space, Life, or Spirit. Others wield different but no less potent powers, such as the power of an Aeternal, which blurs the line between humanity and divinity. Magic deals with supernatural energies such as Light, Shadow, Apeiron, Life, Death, Void, and even Darkness. These powers are based off of a modified version of Plato's Theory of the Realms, in which everything consists of a physical 'receptacle' that imperfectly mimics a spiritual 'ideal'.
The entire Elsphere is ruled by deific beings called the Aldei, the last of the original 13. Elana represents love and loyalty, Amdra wrath and punishment, and Arbriae growth and freedom. Two of the others - Jeran and Daran - were killed in battle, and the 7 others - including Eramus and Ashonai - have been erased from history for an unspeakable offense. Other prominent religions worship beings such as Alorkos, who is credited for creation itself, the Eon Lord, and the enigmatic Sum.
What Are These?

Each AE Legends book will have one of these little bars on the back cover. This is for people concerned about the content in their books; a quick glance will tell you the intended audience and how severe the content is in each of four categories: Violence, Language, Drugs & Alcohol, and Spice.
Each symbol is color coded on a scale of 1 (green) to 5 (red). The above shows a Young Adult novel with moderately high Violence, moderately low Language, moderate Drugs and Alcohol, and low Spice.
I intentionally keep my books clean, so the above is about as high as I ever plan to get. However, my books are also intentionally written to convey real and severe stakes, which will have an effect.
