Hey, everybody! Welcome to the official website of AE Legends! Here you'll find plenty of info on my literary universe and what I'm up to currently.

My name is Matthias, and I write clean YA fiction inspired by myths and stories from across history: epic fantasy and science fiction spanning a single multiverse that is building toward a final confrontation between the Light and the Darkness. Thus far, all of my books share the same mythology, cosmic laws, and magic systems.

Currently, this is what I'm working on:

Innocence: Volume One of the Shadowsteel Saga

Planned to be released in June 2025, this is an epic fantasy set on the medieval planet Telluris, where cosmic powers have begun to clash and the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

When rumors reach the North of a dark lord growing in power in the far Southern land of Diria, eight heroes must choose a side in the coming war:

Toros, the elven assassin, once killed to survive and now tires of the knife.

Owain, the man running from his past, must face his own demons.

Tether, the ancient sorcerer, seeks purpose in service to his new god.

Ankë, the son of an offworlder, plans a cosmic gambit.

Ryl-Aldu, the disgraced queen, fights to regain her lost glory.

Exalt, the awakened terror, must decide his own fate.

Rol-Wyrmdos, the dark dragon, schemes to overthrow the pantheon.

And Vesper, a warlord in the West, unites the earth beneath his banner.

It has been prophesied; in the end, all shall fail. But in their failure, they may yet save us all.

The Shattered Ring

This is an epic fantasy standalone set on the medieval planet Aiaona, created by an ancient being who is now dead and whose children reign as gods in her place. The first draft is in progress and is planned to be finished in August 2025.

Trel is the last heir to the kingdom of Assaria. When he was young, the demigod Sanguine, Eternal Lord of Destruction, took everything from him. And now Trel has vowed to take it all back.

With the help of a nomadic scholar, a time-traveling pirate, and a mage from the West, the exiled prince must claim an Eternal power of his own and return to his realm as not only a king, but as a Lord. Only with the might of the Shardlands gathered behind him, and more power than any man has ever dared claim, can Trel hope to vanquish his foe and realize his true destiny.

There is a vacancy, and it must be filled before the Lord of Fury comes.
